2. Project status
Tafløy Lofoten Resort & Casino is a planned five-star hotel, casino and spa resort on an island in Lofoten, northern Norway. It is in development: nothing has been built, the resort is not operating, and no bookings or reservations are taken. The exact location and the opening date are to be announced.
All images on this website are artist’s impressions. Areas, capacities and other figures are planned figures and may change during design and construction. The website is provided for information only and does not constitute an offer.
3. The name
Tafl is an old Norse board game; øy means island. The name refers to the resort’s central idea: an island built around a room of wooden boards.
4. About the domain name
The domain name theindiegamesroom.com refers to the Games Room, the planned room for wooden board games at the heart of the resort. The domain name has no connection with the development, publishing or selling of computer, electronic or online games of any kind.
This website is not a gaming portal. It does not offer any games to play, online or offline, for money or for free, and it does not host or link to any such games.
5. Board games at the resort
Board games in the Games Room are played for fun, with no stakes and no cash prizes. Playing them is not gambling. The Games Room will be open to all guests and is planned in a separate wing from the entertainment and gaming lounge.
6. The entertainment and gaming lounge
The entertainment and gaming lounge is subject to licensing. Land-based casinos are not currently licensed in Norway; casino games and gaming machines are offered only by Norsk Tipping under its exclusive right, and betting on horse racing is run by the foundation Norsk Rikstoto. The gaming lounge will open only if the law allows it and the necessary permission is granted. If it opens, it will be for adults aged 18 and over only.
7. Responsible gaming
